Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 31, 2026
Thank you for trusting Faithful with your study, research, and teaching. We built this application to help you explore Scripture carefully and responsibly using thoughtful tools: AI theological Q&A, sermon analysis, hermeneutical principles, notes, and more. Privacy isn’t a checkbox for us — it’s part of the dignity of your work. This document explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you can make.
Who we are
Faithful is a Bible study application that combines careful methodology with modern tooling. The app includes account management, subscription and payment handling, content analysis services, and secure storage for your notes and results.
Information we collect
- Account details: your email, name (if provided), authentication identifiers, and subscription status.
- Technical and diagnostic data: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, approximate location derived from IP, timestamps, referring pages, and error or performance details.
- Product analytics: events such as pages viewed, features used, onboarding progress, subscription interactions, and session metadata. We use PostHog to understand product usage and improve Faithful.
- Study content: notes you write, analyses you run, prompts you submit, files or references you upload, and results you choose to keep.
- Usage data: app interactions, feature usage, device/browser information, and diagnostic logs to keep things reliable and secure.
- Cookies and similar technologies: used for session management, preferences, and authentication.
- Payment-related info: handled by our payment processor. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.
How we use your information
- Deliver core features: authentication, notes, analyses, and saved results.
- Operate subscriptions: process payments, manage plans, and provide receipts.
- Improve quality: monitor performance, fix bugs, and refine user experience.
- Communicate with you: account notices, service updates, and support responses.
- Protect security: detect abuse, enforce rate limits, and investigate incidents.
- Respect choices: honor your settings for email preferences and data controls.
Analytics, errors, and performance
We use PostHog for product analytics and Sentry for error reporting, diagnostics, and performance monitoring. These services may receive technical information, event data, device and browser details, and identifiers such as an account or session identifier when needed to associate activity with an account. Sentry may capture information about an error and the surrounding application state so we can fix problems. We configure these tools to avoid collecting private note content and AI prompts where technically possible.
You can limit cookies or analytics technologies through your browser settings. Some essential diagnostics may still be collected to protect the service, maintain security, and respond to failures.
Third‑party services
We integrate carefully selected providers to operate the app:
- Supabase for authentication, database storage, and related application services.
- Lemon Squeezy for subscription payments, billing, and transaction administration.
- OpenAI and other configured AI services to process prompts and generate responses.
- YouTube and Google services when you request analysis of an available video or related content.
- PostHog for product analytics and Sentry for error and performance monitoring.
- Vercel for hosting, delivery, and application infrastructure.
These partners only receive the data necessary to perform their services. Where available, we enable privacy‑protective configurations (for example, disabling training on your private content with AI providers, opting out of unnecessary logging, and limiting data retention).
AI features and your content
When you use AI features, your prompts and context are sent to an AI service to generate answers or analyses. We do not use your private notes or prompts to train our own models. Some third‑party AI services may log requests to keep systems secure and functional; when they provide controls to disable training on your data, we choose those options.
You’re always in charge: delete notes and analyses you don’t want to keep, and contact us if you want us to remove specific data from our systems.
Payments and subscriptions
We use a secure payment processor for subscriptions. Your card details are transmitted directly to the processor over encrypted connections and are not stored by Lexa Verum. We keep basic billing metadata (like plan, status, and invoices) to provide receipts and manage your account.
Data retention
We keep your account data, notes, and saved analysis results for as long as your account is active or as required to provide the service. You may delete content at any time. If you close your account, we’ll delete or anonymize remaining personal data within a reasonable period, unless we need to retain it to meet legal obligations or resolve disputes.
Security
Security is a shared responsibility. We use modern safeguards including encrypted transport (HTTPS), access controls, rate limiting, and industry‑standard practices with our providers. You can help by using a strong password, keeping your devices secure, and reporting anything that doesn’t look right.
Your choices and rights
- Access: request a copy of the data we hold about you.
- Correction: update inaccurate information in your account.
- Deletion: remove notes or close your account entirely.
- Portability: export your content when available.
- Marketing: opt out of non‑essential emails.
- Cookies: adjust browser settings to limit tracking technologies.
Children’s privacy
Lexa Verum is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect new features, providers, or legal requirements. When we make meaningful changes, we’ll update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in‑app or by email.
